The Mitigation/Disaster Recovery Technician provides various disaster recovery services to residential and commercial clients. This is a customer serviced focused position as you will be dealing with customers and prospective customers on a daily basis. Candidate must be able to follow all assigned work orders and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
  • Ability to work alone or in a team atmosphere
    Experience with water/fire/smoke damage, mold remediation, and any other emergency/disaster recovery is highly preferred. But Not Required
  • Customer Service based individual
  • Good Math Skills preferred
  • Willing to follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation and other after hours and weekend work as needed
  • Willing to participate in all training as needed/required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible
  • Clean-cut, professional appearance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license as well as a clean driving record
  • Ability to work overtime WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE
  • You must have a strong work ethic and an eye for detail
  • Shifts are mostly weekdays, but you will be required to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Attend and pass certification classes ( Paid for By Five Valleys Restoration)
  • Ability to work on ladders 20′- 30′ high as well as in confined spaces such as attics or crawl spaces.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team, and carry out written and oral instructions

What does a Estimator/Project Manager with Five Valleys Restoration & Cleaning Inc. Do?

Restoration Estimators/Project Managers work with owners, adjusters, and your own team after traumatic events such as a fire or flood to clean up and repair damage to residential and commercial property. As a RE/PM, you will be on scene after property disasters to accurately scope projects and sign work for our production teams to complete. You will build relationships with insurance professionals and communicate with property owners the expectations to build the structure back to its original form.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess each project to come up with an accurate scope of work and estimate for your team as well as the insurance carrier
  • Ability to supervise team members while assisting with training and development.
  • Communicate with Operations daily to assure that all projects are running accordingly
  • Communicate with property owners, tenants, property managers and insurance adjusters.
  • Project Budgeting, Costing, and quality control
  • Utilization of all company project management systems
  • Develop Site Safety Plans as needed
  • Ensure that all job processes and procedures are followed.
  • Monitor and assist standard, large loss and construction projects to completion from start to finish.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships with subcontractors, insurance adjusters and repeat clients.
  • Promote Good Customer service
  • Assist in Asset Tracking, and inventory
  • Consistent Site Visits for job flow purposes
  • Assistance with on call teams may be occasionally required

REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills
  • High School Degree of Equivalent (GED) required
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new programs.
  • Knowledge of Budgeting and Job Costing
  • Effective at managing and monitoring multiple projects at once
  • Min. 3 years in the construction industry
  • Proven Organization Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Prior Experience in the Water and Fire Damage Restoration Industry
  • Prior Experience using estimating Software (preferably Xactimate)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent work experience
  • Experience Working with Property Owners, insurance adjusters and maintenance teams
  • Experience Dealing with Large Commercial and Residential Projects
